La Générale de Manutention Portuaire

Our History

Founded in the 1970s and ideally located, GMP benefits from the road, river and rail infrastructure of the Port of Le Havre’s industrial zone.

GMP currently operates on two maritime sites :

  • The historic ‘Terminaux Nord’ site with the Quai de l’Europe and the Quai des Amériques.
  • Since April 2006, GMP has been operating the Terminal de France, the first of the ‘Port 2000’ project terminals to be operational.

Since August 2022, GMP has been a subsidiary of the Joint Venture between Terminal Link (50.2%) (a subsidiary of the CMA CGM group and China Merchant Holdings) and the investment company iCON Infrastructure (49.8%).

A wide range of services

In addition to container handling, GMP provides various complementary services :

  • warehouse storage
  • container unloading and stuffing
  • handling of oversized parcels
  • container transport service in the port area

ASCOT, a GMP subsidiary, offers wedging, seizing and repair services for reefer containers.

JELETRANS, another subsidiary of the group, is specialized in heavy goods vehicles and trailers repairs.
